Dear Pambato Cagayan De Oro,
I don't think we fully informed you that our shipment was safely delivered to storage. The guys at this end from the trucking company talked about how difficult it was to break open the crates you guys prepared in CDO. Those were really built well.
We had a few headaches at this end. It took a couple of weeks to get the shipment out of U.S. customs, since they designated the shipment for full x-ray inspection. There was no problem with the shipment, but the container was delayed while waiting for its turn in the x-ray cue.
Through my old colleagues at OOCL, I was able to get a freight forwarder here who was highly recommended by the head of the Port of Tacoma and Seattle. This forwader no longer accepts household goods shipments but took ours as an exception as a courtesy to an "industry insider." Their trucking company was slow in delivering the shipment, because they usually handle only corporate/commercial shipments and had a bit of difficulty in fitting our delivery into their schedule. Still, it all got done alright in the end.
We are grateful for the good work performed by you and your colleagues. Hope you have all recovered from wrapping all those items. One thing we are enjoying here is the cooler summer. It was really hot during the time you prepared our shipment.
Sincerely, Harry Wilkinson ( July 29, 2012)
